The Chang La Pass is on the way to Pangong Lake from Leh. The small city of Tangste is the nearby settlement. The Chang La Pass is a main gateway for the Changthang highland located in the Himalayas. The nomadic tribes of the region are collectively known as the Changpa or Chang-pa. The Chang la Pass Leh is famous for its picturesque and tranquil beauty that attracts tourist around the world. Tourist can visit Chang Pass throughout the year but it can be closed anytime due to snowfall. While visiting the place the climate is very freezing and chilling climate and the oxygen is less due to the altitude. In Changla Pass Ladakh one can spend 15 -20 minutes and enjoy the snow along with the scene that is covered with snow. The roads are frequently closed due to severe climatic conditions. The suitable clothing for the extreme climate in Changla Pass Ladakh consists of warm clothing and ears covered and suitable footwear is required. Tourist can have warm water to tolerate the cold climate. The permits for Changla Pass Leh are issued only for three weeks. Permits can be acquired by the Divisional Commissioner's office in Leh.
